MC Tank Terminal: initial GMA non-detections; cleanup and sampling continue
EPA’s October 24 noon update reports no detections of glycidyl methacrylate in initial raw results from its TAGA mobile laboratory in the surrounding community. Fixed-location monitoring and laboratory sampling continue. The City’s October 24, 6:24 p.m. update links preliminary monitoring reports; results remain incomplete and subject to quality review. This does not establish final cleanup completion.
Evacuation was lifted October 23 at noon; shelter-in-place was lifted October 21. Roads and waterways are open. The site was transferred to its owners for cleanup under EPA oversight.
For lingering indoor odors, follow Health Department ventilation and cleaning guidance. Wear gloves when cleaning affected surfaces with warm water and dish soap; discard exposed food. If symptoms develop indoors, leave for fresh air and seek medical advice. If unusual outdoor odors cause irritation, stay indoors, close windows and stop outside-air ventilation.
